CQ fluency CEO meets President Obama

Elisabete Miranda, President of CQ fluency

A recent invitation received at CQ fluency brought with it an air of excitement and anticipation. It was addressed from the White House.

Elisabete Miranda, President of CQ fluency was invited by the White House on July 31, 2014 to witness the momentous signing of the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order.  “President Obama, in signing this executive order, shows his firm commitment to small businesses and helping them succeed; and to all people through fair and equitable employment and wage practices,” said Miranda. “As a minority woman business owner, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for a nation that supports entrepreneurs of any size and shape.”

The White House released a statement about the executive order saying, “While the vast majority of federal contractors play by the rules, every year tens of thousands of American workers are denied overtime wages, not hired or paid fairly because of their gender or age, or have their health and safety put at risk by corporations contracting with the federal government that cut corners.”

“Being a woman entrepreneur working with people from many backgrounds, I believe the signing of this executive order is extremely important. It provides more opportunities for business owners such as myself, who are growing businesses in the lawful manner and are fair to employees, regardless of nationality, gender, or age,” expressed Elisabete Miranda on the new policy. “I applaud the President for taking this action.”
